Dear Neighbor, Be Prepared – A Friendly Reminder
Our Neighborhood Plan for Emergencies Is Based Largely
on Self-Reliance of Each Individual Household
Have food, water, and medicines for several days;
Have flashlights or other sources of light (and backup batteries);
Keep a fire extinguisher handy;
Know where your water, gas, and electrical turnoffs are and have the tools to turn them off and on;
Have disaster clothing – shoes, gloves -- under your bed, warm clothes and rain gear for outdoor living and cash in the event credit cards won’t work;
Get busy with those seismic retrofit projects, including securing tall bookcases and other objects that can become dangerous in a quake;
Have a plan: organize your emergency contacts and know alternate evacuation routes;
Attend our neighborhood meetings!
RECRUITING NEW MEMBERS!
We want to make a special appeal for new members to participate in our Planning Committee. We need new ideas, new interest, and new energy. We need help managing our website, planning events, researching other groups’ efforts, and facilitating communications.
Contact anyone listed below. Thank you!

National Night Out Block Party
August 2021
August 2021
As every year the Campus Parnassus Neighborhood Group celebrated National Night Out August 2021. Even under pandemic restrictions many neighbors gathered in front of Eric Arens and Elizabeth Saucier’s home. Neighborhood beat officers from the Berkeley police department visited and answered questions from neighbors while promoting a police-community partnership. Plenty of food, delicious desserts, and great wine made it easy to reconnect with our neighbors and discuss the latest developments. It felt good to gather as a community. The next National Night Out Block Party will occur August 2nd, 2022 from 6 to 8 pm again in front of Eric Arens and Elizabeth Saucier’s home. We all look forward to seeing you there again.
